In 1961, the Association was started with a small enthusiastic group... whose main purpose is to raise technical standards in the theatre by collecting and making available information concerning theatre planning, stage machinery, lighting and sound equipment, acoustic, scenery construction, stage management and all aspects of presentation. The Association provides a forum for discussion among theatre technicians through the publication of a newsletter and through regular meetings. The Association is not a trade union nor does it confer on members any professional status.

NICEIC is the electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body for electrical installation matters throughout the UK. We offer industry-leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry.

The Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) was formed over 27 years ago when a fledgling industry began to develop from the pioneering work of the talented individuals who first explored new concepts in sound, lighting, projection and staging.

The Society provides a forum that stimulates a free exchange of ideas in all aspects of the television profession. It promotes discussion on techniques and on the use and design of equipment and arranges meetings throughout the UK and abroad.
